SILVER AWARD 2018 FROM ACADEMY OF CHOCOLATE, LONDON
Dong Nai, a hilly inland area to the north of the Mekong River underlain by volcanic rock, supports cacao plantations on its low-lying slopes as well as in its valleys. Chocolate made from beans grown in this region has a lighter yet silky character, awakening the taste buds with fresh lychee, pomegranate. There is a strong aroma of chocolate but hint of tobacco and black tea like earthiness at the end.
